Your Site’s Appeal
December 21, 2012 Promotional Tips
When you visit a website, forum or blog, often it will only take a few moments after landing on the page to decide whether you like the site or not…this is superficial of course, but many people today are superficial. It is funny how much attention people pay to the layout, design, theme and content of the website, and often the first few seconds/minutes on the website are the most crucial.
If someone lands on your website and is greeted with poor design and layout, this is likely to leave a pretty big impression and you face the big risk of your hard earned and valuable traffic bouncing pretty quickly. There is nothing more annoying in the Webmaster world than generating all this traffic through great SEO and Promotion but only to have it leave the site moments after landing on it.
Many people focus solely on the promotion aspect of the website, and forget that to make a successful online business, you need to have all aspects of the site well rounded, especially the site’s appeal. It is vitally important for new site owners to make sure they have completed the design and layout of their website before they begin promotion. Nothing smells like inexperienced and lack of effort more than poor initial site appeal, and its a surefire way to send your website to the graveyards of failed websites.
So take the time to have a critical look at your site currently, and be harsh. If you find things in the look and layout that can be improved, don’t shove it to one side and hope it improves. Fix it before more valuable and hard earned traffic bounces and you lose potential activity or sales!
